Addressing the Challenges of Technology-enhanced Learning

Theme: The provision of flexible learning paths and the support of student-centred learning, as called by the Bologna reforms, together with the economic and financial constraints and the demographic changes in Europe are driving new models and approaches for lifelong learning and, in particular, e-learning. At this session different strategies for applying technology to enhance both efficiency and the learning experience will be addressed as well as related issues namely quality assurance and academic integrity.

Theme: Universities are seen as key for the EU's growth strategy and knowledge is recognized as the critical factor for global competitiveness. It is not surprising, thus, finding universities under strong pressure to achieve increasing levels of excellence both in education and research, plus the ability of being more efficient with their finances and human resources. The benefits of combining operational data and analytical tools to make better decisions and drive value as well as to diminish the overhead of assessment exercises are to be discussed in this session.
