Zero trust: An approach to manage hostile environments

Today’s education models have to be reinvented in real time. Distance and hybrid learning mean staff and students are relying on IT systems like never before. Performance is paramount, but so are security and privacy. A Zero Trust approach to security can establish optimized control regarding access and authorization to applications as well as sensitive data without introducing unnecessary borders to educational and research experiences on campuses.

Zero Trust combines security expertise with a user-centered philosophy to provide multi-factor authentication (MFA), endpoint remediation and methodologies for secure single sign-on. So it will become possible to enable required policies and control to limit access based on endpoint or user risk, whilst users get a consistent login experience with single sign-on that delivers centralised access to both on-premises and cloud applications.
