I am an Open Science enthusiast. I have worked at SURF with a short spell at the ministry of Education, Culture and Science for 12 years now. I have experience on working on a broad range of open science topics ranging from research data management to open access, and from persistent identifiers to ‘enhanced publications’. Mostly at a policy level my passion is in finding innovative ways forward for open science practices. I have particular interest in those developments that start locally but have the nature of becoming as international as science itself. For that reason I am currently part of the Steering group of Knowledge Exchange on behalf of SURF. A collaboration between six partners that all play an essential role on the transformation to open science. On a national level I am amongst others involved in a national roadmap for persistent identifiers and looking into ways to safeguard academic sovereignty and public values in terms of research information.
