Save the date for the EUNIS pre-Congress workshops: June 4

EUNIS 2019 Congress, with the theme Campus for the future, will take place at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway, on 5 – 7 June 2019, but you can already save 4 June 2019 for the pre-Congress workshops. Therefore, we invite you to the:

Active learning in interactive spaces workshop

We will look at designing physical learning spaces based on sound pedagogic principles and incorporating effective use of technology. Join us to:

  • find out more about approaches to design; stakeholder engagement and working in cross functional teams;
  • hear staff and student experiences of piloting new types of learning space;
  • consider how to develop necessary staff and student digital capabilities;
  • tour (and try out for yourselves) innovative facilities including:
    • active learning classrooms;
    • makerspace and other student driven spaces;
    • virtual reality lab;
    • world-class interactive lecture theatre

The event will be of interest to anyone involved in learning space development whether your role is academic, IT, AV support, estates management or senior management. The event is free of charge for EUNIS members and registered Congress delegates.

Register for the EUNIS information security event: the deadline is 1 December

There is time till 1st of December to register for the EUNIS GDPR & Information Security workshop at Brunel University London, held on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th Dec 2018.

The event is targeted to European CIOs, CISO’s and policy makers.

Data protection, privacy, and security are important topics that rule in the digital world, thus the workshop will provide insights in the legal, technological and organisational perspectives as well as the GDPR compliance at institutional, national and international level.

The event will focus on challenges and practices of Information Security for HEIs. The impact of ever-increasing importance of ensuring security, the organisational and technological challenges and developments will be addressed. Speakers will highlight and share the challenges and solutions found locally, nationally and internationally. Expertise and experience will be shared between universities and national organisations in European countries such as the UK, Germany and Norway.

Register for the EUNIS GDPR and Information Security workshop: 10-11 Dec 2018, Brunel University London

EUNIS are pleased to invite you to the GDPR and Information Security workshop at Brunel University, London, on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th December 2018.

Audience will be around 50 European CIOs, CISO’s and policy makers.

The workshop will, on the first day, provide insights in progress made since GDPR compliance became compulsory in May 2018. Legal, technological and organisational perspectives at institutional, national and international level will be discussed, including vendor and procurement issues.

On the second day the focus will be on challenges and practices of Information Security for HEIs. The impact of ever-increasing importance of ensuring security, the organisational and technological challenges and developments will be addressed. Speakers will highlight and share the challenges and solutions found locally, nationally and internationally.

Expertise and experience will be shared between universities and national organisations in European countries such as the UK, Germany and Norway and we shall include the perspective of a solution vendor on providing GDPR services and tools. The workshop will be a fantastic opportunity for networking and getting inspiration by sharing good practices and discuss future plans.

Register for the annual BencHEIT workshop: 27th Nov, U. of Zurich, Switzerland

We are pleased to invite you to the seventh annual EUNIS BencHEIT benchmarking workshop. This year, the workshop will be held on Tue 27th November at the University of Zurich. On Mon 26th November we will have a pre-workshop day with sightseeing tour and a get-together dinner at the restaurant in the city centre of Zurich.

The day is a great opportunity for networking, discussion and sharing experiences between institutions that have been part of IT benchmarking projects.

Join our EUNIS Learning Analytics event (11-12 October 2018, Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland) online now. The live streaming is available under this link: https://connect.funet.fi/aalto_eunis2018
