This forum is where all the decisions related to the EUNIS’ structure and organisation are made and updates from the EUNIS Task Forces and Board are presented. The General Assembly has two other very important duties: the election of EUNIS members to the EUNIS Board and approval of the EUNIS budget that will be presented by the Treasurer.
In June 2017 the terms of office of four Board Members will come to an end and these Board members will need to apply for re-election:

  • Mr. Ramon Grau Sala (SIGMA, Spain)
  • Ms. Ligia Ribeiro (University of Porto, Portugal)
  • Mr. Yiannis Salmatzidis (Aristotle University, Greece)
While all the above have the opportunity to be re-elected we will welcome new candidatures to the EUNIS Board. If you are interested in presenting your candidature to act on the Board of Directors of EUNIS, we kindly ask you to send an email by close of business on Tuesday 16th May 2017 with a short biography, photo and the motivation of your interest to: Jean-Francois Desnos, EUNIS Executive Secretary: jfdesnos@orange.fr
In the past few months the two candidates listed below were co-opted to the EUNIS Board to replace two vacancies that had arisen from resignations from the Board. The HOLA Cloud Roadmap – identify the major challenges

The HOLA Cloud Roadmap – identify the major challenges

The HOLA Cloud roadmap compiles the opinion of ICT experts to assess how CLOUD Computing will develop over the next years.

Basing on the experts’ opinions the roadmap tries to identify which long-term developments are needed on basis of the overall research and development trends both in industry and academy, as well as market trends that indicate how the requirements and market needs will develop.

The Roadmap has now been published as a living document on HOLA Cloud website, where the key topics and the individual aspects are presented in full detail and opened to discussion. In regular intervals, the comments will be analysed and the roadmap updated accordingly. On behalf of euroCRIS (the partner of the project) we encourage  to contribute to the HOLA Cloud Roadmap.

European project on leadership for the digital transformation of universities

The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), the institutional member of EUNIS, will be running two leadership schools within the Transforming Universities for the Digital Age (D-Transform) project. The aim of the project is to introduce a leadership training programme for the presidents and vice presidents of European universities that takes into account the role of digital technologies and open educational resources (OER) to transform their institutions. The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) is taking part in this project, which is intended to help university governing bodies define their digital strategies and coordinate them with the public policies defined at national and European level. Funded by the strategic partnerships sub-programme of the Erasmus+ European financing programme, it has a budget of around half a million euros and will continue until 2017.

The participating institutions are: Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, UOC, Université de Lorraine, Sero Consulting Ltd, METID – Politecnico di Milano, Budapest University of Technology and Economics and EDEN.
