EUNIS GA 2020: 17 June 2020

The EUNIS 2020 online General Assembly will be held on 17th of June (Wednesday) 2020 in Zoom after the EUNIS20 online Congress in “Virtual Helsinki”.

This forum is where all the decisions related to the EUNIS’ structure and organisation are made and updates from the EUNIS Special Interest Groups and the Board are presented. The General Assembly has two other very important duties: the election of EUNIS member representatives to the EUNIS Board and the approval of the EUNIS budget that will be presented by the Treasurer.

In June 2020 the service of five Board Members will come to the end:

  •     Mr. Yiannis Salmatzidis, U. of Thessaloniki, Greece (Treasurer) – applies for re-election
  •     Ms. Nina Reignier-Tayar, U. of Grenoble Alpes, France (Board member) – applies for re-election
  •     Mr. Ramon Grau Sala, SIGMA, Spain (Board member) – end of term
  •     Ms. Ligia Ribeiro, U. of Porto, Portugal (Board member) – end of term

Mr. Salmatzidis and Ms. Reignier-Tayar are candidates to their re-election. The biographies of all current Board members can be found on the EUNIS website.

A new candidate to the EUNIS Board is:

All EUNIS Members are entitled to take part in the meeting. The representatives of European Higher Education and Research institutions (regular members) having paid their annual fee are entitled to take part in the voting and elections to the Board.

Call for candidates to the EUNIS Board of Directors 2020

We are actively seeking new candidatures to the EUNIS Board from the regular members of EUNIS as two current board members will not be running for re-election in 2020. If, as a regular member representative, you are interested in putting forward your candidature to act on the Board of Directors of EUNIS, we kindly ask you to send an email by close of business on 21st of May 2020 with a short biography, photo and outlining the motivation of your interest to:

The Board of Directors of EUNIS commits itself to make all efforts to solicit candidatures of excellently qualified female candidates to run for vacant board positions, in line with the policy of an inclusive and diverse organisation.
The EUNIS 2020 General Assembly (GA) will be scheduled during the Virtual EUNIS Congress which will run from the 8th-12th June 2020. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak the Virtual EUNIS Congress will replace the “face to face” Congress originally planned for Helsinki on the same dates.

All official representatives of EUNIS Members are entitled to take part in the GA meeting. This forum is where the decisions related to the EUNIS’ structure and organisation are made and updates from the EUNIS Special Interest Groups and the Board are presented. The General Assembly has two other very important duties: the election of EUNIS members to the EUNIS Board; and approval of the EUNIS budget that will be presented by the Treasurer.

Those representatives of European Higher Education and Research institutions (regular members) that have paid their annual fee and that are in good order in relation to arrears are entitled to take part in the voting and elections to the Board with one vote per institution.

EUNIS Award for Best Overall AV-enabled Education Space

Effective use of Audio-Visual (AV) technology is increasingly important in education and increasingly linked to IT. With this in mind, EUNIS is launching a new award with the support of AVIXA (the professional association for the AV industry).

The award celebrates great design where AV is an integral component of enabling education to take place in a given space or campus. Both new build and re-fit are eligible. The award is open to higher education providers worldwide.

HE conference at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), 11 Feb 2020, Amsterdam

EUNIS is once again partnering with Avixa and SCHOMS at ISEEUNIS members can have free passes for both the ISE show and the HE conference.
