EUNIS 2020 Virtual Congress: 9 -12 June 2020

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, EUNIS has decided to cancel the face-to-face event for the Annual Congress that was planned for 9–12 June at the University of Helsinki and replace it by an on-line event at the same dates!

We are now planning a new virtual format for the meetings with the involvement of our Special Interest Groups. The submitted abstracts have been reviewed and some authors are already willing to present on-line.

We will update you on the specific timeline as soon as it is available. For now save the date in your calendar for on-line sessions during the original EUNIS Congress. More information soon!

EUNIS Information Security workshop outcomes

Below you’ll find an overview of the outcomes from the EUNIS Information Security Group (Info Sec) GDPR workshop that was held at the University of Malaga, Spain on 27-28 January 2020. It addressed various security and privacy issues, such as warning systems, incident response, vulnerability checks, information security training, risk management and GDPR in HEIs.

In two half days around 25 information security experts presented and exchanged experiences. They discussed topics as varied as the dangers of unencrypted email traffic (POP3, IMAP, SMTP), the disastrous impact of Emotet attacks, and the lack of awareness among users.
