EUNIS benchmarking annual workshop: 25 Nov online

EUNIS Information Security workshops: registration now open

You are invited to EUNIS 2-hour online workshops organised by the EUNIS Information Security Special Interest Group (InfoSec):

  • ‘Data Protection and Cloud Security’
When: Oct 27, 2020 14.00 – 16.00 CET.

This two-hour workshop will address how cloud services help to make available and protect data. The focus of the workshop will be on legislative aspects concerning remote working, online teaching and research, data protection and security policies.The introductory address will be delivered by Andrew Cormack, Chief Regulatory Adviser, Jisc, UK. If terms like ‘Schrems’ and ‘EDPS’ ring a bell, this workshop is for you.
Expected audience: CIO’s, security officers and those involved in legislative policy and compliance

  •  ‘How To Make Cloud Services Secure’

When: Nov 3, 2020 14:00 – 16.00 CET

This two-hour workshop will address what actions can be taken, and what approaches and tools are available, to increase security in a world where cloud services rule – examples are Microsoft’s 365 and Amazon services. What is the role of, and how to best set up security centres? What can be done to prevent, detect, resolve security breaches? How to set priorities in security policies? How to use offerings by cloud service providers  to improve our security? The introductory talk will be delivered by Jeroen Vandeleur, Service line lead Cloud Security, NVISO, Belgium. The discussions will address technical and implementation issues.

If terms like ‘MISP’, ‘DKIM’ and ‘SPF’ ring a bell, this workshop is for you!

Expected audience: CIO’s, security officers involved in the technology behind secure cloud service delivery

Renew your membership at EUNIS for the academic year 2020/21

Welcome to a new year of EUNIS membership!

As a not-for-profit organisation we consider it highly important that Higher Education Institutions take advantage of the opportunities to share ideas and good practices to help us operate efficiently.

With this in mind EUNIS will be organising special interest online events this year that are led by our Special Interests Groups and Task Force Leaders. As a EUNIS member you have a priority for attendance and, if possible, you can attend them free of charge.
