EUNIS 2015: registration and call for papers reminder

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that the call for papers for EUNIS 2015 closes in four weeks’ time (on 13 February 2015). The Congress provides an ideal audience to present and publish the latest results of research, development and deployment of information technology in HEIs. With 146 members representing 129 European institutes in over 30 countries, we anticipate that 300-350 key decision makers will attend this prestigious event.

Registration is now open and the early bird registration fee is currently available (£350 – EUNIS members / £450 – non members). The first 100 delegates to register to attend EUNIS 2015 will be entered into a prize draw to win a bottle of Talisker 10 year old single malt Scotch Whisky.

EUNIS 2015 Congress: Registration and Call for Papers

EUNIS (European University Information Systems organisation) is happy to announce a call for papers for its 2015 Annual Congress which has the theme “EUNIS 2015 -The Journey to Discovery”. The Congress will be held on 1o-12th of June 2015 at the Aberaty University in Dundee (Scotland).

This congress presents an opportunity for sharing of experience amongst international specialists, users, researchers, decision-makers, and teaching staff from all over Europe. The event provides an ideal audience to present and publish the latest results of research, development, and deployment of Information Technology in HEIs.

Six track programme

The programme is divided into six tracks. The review for each track will be overseen by a track expert and the programme committee as a whole will manage the review of all submissions to ensure the best possible congress programme

Submissions are invited under one of the six tracks below:

  • Leadership, Management and Governance
  • Information & Communications Technology
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Corporate Information Systems & Business Applications
  • Research and IT (in collaboration with euroCRIS)
  • Software Development

Submission Guidelines

Submissions can be one of the following types:

  • Scientific – presentation of research work and results in a paper session. Submission consists of an Extended Abstract and an optional Full Paper.
  • Technological – presentation covering technological aspects of the use of IT/IS in HEIs. Submission consists of an Extended Abstract.
  • Good Practice – examples of successive applications and deployments of IT/IS solutions in HEIs. Submission consists of an Extended Abstract.

The submission may contain an extended abstract only. A full paper submission is optional but if the author/s wish to apply for any of the awards a full paper must be submitted. All submitted papers/abstracts will go through reviewing processes carried out by the Programme Committee (at least two reviewers for each paper/abstract). All accepted abstracts from all the tracks and the submitted full papers will be published in the Congress Proceedings.

The deadline for submissions is 13th February 2015.

Training for HORIZON 2020: 11-12 Dec, Brussels

European Project Proposal Development: Training for HORIZON 2020

As the latest H2020 proposal evaluation reports indicate, the participation of organisations from your country should be increased.

Thus, EU Academy together with several reputable partners, are organizing a Brussels based training to mobilize and streamline EU support on those points of leverage that will bring the surest immediate results. The event will bring exceptional benefits to the delegates who themselves represent most prominent stakeholders (universities, research institutions, civil society organisations, SME’s, NGO’s, public bodies, etc.) and will provide outstanding quality of training for excellence in H2020 project development and proposal writing. Followed by effective strategies and tools for partner search.

The workshop will be held on 11-12 December 2014 in Brussels.

BencHEIT event in Bologna Dec 1st – programme update

We would like to remind you that registration for the next BencHEIT Task Force Workshop will close on November 16th.

Several IT benchmarking initiatives from different Countries will be discussed during the event.
If you haven’t had the chance to register yet, please take a look at the interesting program.

Participation in the event is open, free of charge, to all EUNIS Members. If you are not a EUNIS Member Institution, but interested in this topic, please contact Michele Mennielli (m.mennielli@cineca.it) to learn more about the event. There are limited number of seats available, but it might be possible for you to attend.

TNC15: call for proposals – by 28 Nov

 TNC15 15-18 JUNE 2015, Porto, Portugal
Dear colleagues,
The TNC15 Call for Proposals deadline is approaching very fast, 5 days to the deadline, Friday 28 November 2014!
Proposals for sessions and presentations can be submitted directly to the TNC15 website:
TNC15 is the largest networking conference for research and education in Europe. The theme of TNC15 is ‘Connected Communities’. The conference will be held from 15-18 June 2015 in Porto, Portugal, organised by TERENA (GÉANT Association) and hosted by FCT|FCCN, Portugal’s unit for the operation of the National Research and Education Network (NREN) within the funding agency for science and research in Portugal.
To select presentations / sessions at the TNC15, all submission will go through three comprehensive reviews:
(1) double-blind (at least two reviewers),
(2) non-blind  and
(3) participative peer reviews. Authors will receive the result of the evaluations by the reviewers of their abstracts.
The conference programme will be made up of keynote speakers, accepted speakers and accepted sessions proposals.
