Submit a paper to TNC16 – Building the Internet of People

EUNIS has for a long time had a strategic partnership with GEANT. Each year the two organisations interchange presenters at each others annual conferences. The call for papers to TNC has now opened and can be found at the TNC website.

Submit a proposal (single presentation or full session) for TNC16. The theme of TNC16 is ‘Building the Internet of People’. The conference will be held from 12-16 June 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic, organised by GÉANT and hosted by the Czech National Research and Education Network (CESNET).

Deadline for submission (presentation abstracts and session proposals) is 30 November 2015

EUNIS workshop on Higher Education IT benchmarking: Nov 13, Barcelona

Dear Colleagues,

We have the pleasure to invite you to the 2015 Workshop on Higher Education IT benchmarking, organised by the EUNIS BencHEIT Task Force! This year it will be on Friday the 13th of November, at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona (http://www.upf.edu/en/)

The workshop will be an opportunity for networking, discussion and sharing experiences. BencHEIT is the first initiative that aims at creating a survey that can be meaningful and useful in the whole European higher education sector. In order to reach the important goal of building up a tool to allow the comparison of costs and strategies related to IT activities among different European countries, Bencheit needs your contribution and expertise.

Are you participating in any benchmarking project in your country or institution? Do you know any interesting initiative you would like to talk about during the event? We would appreciate to hear your thoughts and discuss how we can collaborate together to integrate different projects and work at a European level!

If you are interested in the initiative and need more information about it, or if you want to share ideas on topics you would like to discuss with us, please send an email to bm-pg@eunis.org.

The final agenda, registration and more information about the Workshop will be available after summer.

EUNIS 2016, Thessaloniki, Greece, 8-10 June: the website already launched

Dear Colleague,

As you may already know, Aristotle University has the honor of hosting the EUNIS Congress next year in Thessaloniki.

This is:

•         the first time the EUNIS Congress will be hosted in Greece,

•         the first time the EUNIS Congress will be hosted in the Balkan Peninsula,

•         the  Southernmost in Europe the Congress has ever been hosted.

It is a fact that the ever growing EUNIS community is expanding to a new region.

Let me introduce Aristotle University and the city of Thessaloniki. Aristotle University is the largest Greek university, widely recognized as a culture center of learning. Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece, famous for its lively streets, vibrant night life and cultural signature. As the former European City of Culture winner and the European capital of youth for 2014 we look forward to hosting next year’s event and showing Greece’s legendary hospitality.

The 22nd EUNIS Congress website is already launched and running.

I look forward to meeting all of you in Dundee and welcome you to cosmopolitan Thessaloniki on 8 June 2016 for the 22nd EUNIS Congress.

UCISA2015 Conference: 18-20 March, Edinburgh

UCISA2015 Conference: 18-20 March, Edinburgh

Edinburgh will be the place to be for IT leaders in IT from HE for UCISA15. We have booked a range of stimulating and high quality speakers addressing many of the issues we are all facing, as well as giving an insight into in areas that may not be familiar, but will hopefully provide you with food for thought.

There will be plenty of time to network with your peers and valued partners, and the Programme will also include the popular Business and University Showcases which, this year, will be addressing the challenges we as a sector identified as being our top priorities. There will also be a formal Poster session with the opportunity to chat to colleagues about achievements and good practice in a variety of areas. Alongside this, we host the largest supplier exhibition for our sector giving you the opportunity to network with existing suppliers, as well as potential new ones.

EUNIS 2015: call for papers deadline extension till Feb 27

Call for papers – deadline extended till 27th of February

EUNIS 2015: The Journey to Discovery

Dear Colleague,

The call for papers deadline has now passed, however due to a number of requests we have agreed to extend the period to allow for more submissions. We’ve had a fantastic response so far and look forward to receiving further papers before the final deadline.

Please note the new deadline date is Friday 27th February 2015. THIS IS THE FINAL DEADLINE AND NO FURTHER EXTENSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED. Papers can be submitted on any of the following tracks:

  • Leadership, Management and Governance
  • Information & Communications Technology
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Corporate Information Systems & Business Applications
  • Research and IT (in collaboration with euroCRIS)
  • Software Development

Please note that submissions can be extended abstract only, and do not need to be full paper submissions.
