Presenter: John DeVille, Explorance
Date & Time: Thursday 3rd February 2-3pm CET

Registration: Register here.

The BI SIG has long wished to dive more into the world of using survey data as a basis for decision making. One of EUNIS´ Corporate members Explorance has several years of experience of retrieving actionable insights from both employee and student feedback. Embracing educational technology has never been more important in the drive for student engagement. Student success in today’s setting requires the availability of effective digital resources as well as engaging instruction from technology-proficient faculty. One of the most effective digital resources that can be utilized is that of web-based surveys. These can be used to identify student sentiment and reactions in a timely manner, being issued at the ideal time for consultation. By leveraging survey data on course evaluations, Higher Education institutions can make more data-informed decisions to understand strengths and opportunities, as well as identify areas of concern. This approach helps to empower a culture of continuous improvement.

John O. DeVille is a Principal Consultant at Explorance and will introduce the topic of using survey data to support decision making. John has worked several years with employee engagement surveys and at the end of the session, attendees will have an improved understanding of:

  • How to practically apply survey data to increase student engagement.
  • Improving the learning experience by identifying the outstanding areas of concern or success via student feedback.
  • The latest developments in surveying and feedback approaches.

John joined Explorance in 2021 as a Principal Consultant and has 20+ years of experience in talent measurement, learning evaluation, survey research, and people analytics. Prior to Explorance, John was Talent Survey Insights & Learning Evaluation Leader at Deloitte for 10 years. John has a dual master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Measurement-Statistics from Illinois State University and holds SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications.
