EUNIS was well represented by Annette Grande Furset from UNIT, Norway, the EUNIS representative on the IMS Europe board, at the IMS Europe Summit in Barcelona on 10-11 October.
Around 150 industry professionals met with representatives from higher education to discuss the role of standards in advancing next-generation education technologies.

Gill Ferrell from the EUNIS Learning and Teaching Group opened day two with a keynote entitled ‘Next Generation Edtech in Europe: Ode to Joy or Requiem in D Minor?’. Gill’s talk celebrated the many successes of European collaboration but pointed out that we face some difficult judgments about ethics, equality, and digital well-being.

Gill also ran a joint session with Gyöngyi Horváthof from GÉANT where they compared and contrasted the perspectives of EUNIS supporting mainly higher education institutions and GÉANT representing the National research and education networks (NRENs)
The event further cemented the collaborations between EUNIS, IMS Global and GÉANT and we look forward to more joint working!
