Management and Information Systems - MIS 2008

The workshop took place just before the EUNIS 2008 conference and at the same venue, University of Aarhus Lakeside Lecture Theatre. You will find below the slides of the presentations.

On Monday 23rd June pm, each speaker presented his consortium: LADOK, HIS, MUCI, SURF, AMUE and CINECA. On Tuesday June 24th June am, we had presentations and roundtables about:

  1. The relations of the consortia with the universities and the IT industry
  2. Trends and perspectives
  3. European cooperation

LADOK ( Gunnar Backelin) Mr Backelin is Chief Executive for the Ladok Consortium. Before that, he worked for a consultant company, and for the universities of Uppsala and Mälardalen. He is the initiator of the NordForum cooperation with LADOK counterparts in the Nordic countries. He holds a Master of Political Science from Uppsala University.

HIS ( Uwe Hübner) Dr Hübner is Head of the Divison "IT for Higher Education" at HIS, the Higher Education Information System, a nonprofit organization supporting university administration and higher education policy-makers in Germany. After his PhD on networks, he worked for an ICT company, then as the Head of Computing Department at the University of Technology Chemnitz.

MUCI (Jan Madey) Dr Madey is a professor of informatics at the University of Warsaw, the Director of Center for Open and Multimedia Education and the former Vice-Rector of this University. He is a co-founder and the Board Member of MUCI. Besides Poland he worked in North America and Europe doing research and teaching at prestigious universities. He is the current Vice-President of EUNIS.

SURF (Bas Cordewener) Mr Cordewener has been working for the SURFfoundation since 1999 in the area of IT, e-learning and innovation. In August 2005 he became Manager International Collaboration. He is a member of the Board of JISC CETIS (Centre for Educational Technology & Interoperability Standards) and previously participated in boards of EKMA/EASA, EUNIS and Knowledge Exchange.

AMUE (Jean-François Desnos) Dr Desnos is in charge of IT Innovative Projects, and teaches computer science at Grenoble Universities. He is leading the GRAAL French IT project about an information system on research. He is one of the founders of the GIGUE, which became AMUE in 1997. He is the current President of EUNIS.

CINECA ( Simone Ravaioli) Mr Ravaioli is Director of International Affairs at KION/CINECA, for which he works on Student Systems and Standards, and on Metadata for Learning Opportunities. He also belongs to the Board of Apex (Italy), an IT consultancy company. He holds a MS in Information Systems management from Loyola University in Chicago.
